Happy Guy Fawkes Night

Guy Fawkes Night or Bonfire Night, is an annual evening of fireworks and bonfires held across Britain. Britons celebrate Guy Fawkes Night to remember an important event in history, an attempt by Guy Fawkes and his conspirators to blow up the Houses of Parliament. On the night of November 5th in 1605 the plot to kill the king was foiled. Since then the foiled plot has been commemorated every November 5th by burning effigies of Guy Fawkes on bonfires. Due to lockdown this year, public fireworks have been banned however people are allowed to set off fireworks in their own gardens.
