Torch Festival China

The Yi people are one of China’s 56 ethnic groups. The Torch Festival is the main holidays of the Yi people of southwest China. During the torch festival Yi people in traditional attire carry torches and parade around villages. The Yi worship fire and believe fire has the power to ward off evil spirits and kill pests ensuring a good harvest.
