Indian Culture – Happy Lohri

Rooted in agrarian traditions, the Indian festival of Lohri marks the onset of the harvest season. It is primarily celebrated in India’s northwest state of Punjab. The families of farmers gather around bonfires to sing, dance, eat peanuts and sugar cane, and throw these festive snacks into the bonfire as an offering to the sun god, the giver of all life. The festival of Lohri is celebrated on January 13 every year. Culture Buff Indian Values games leverages visual storytelling to teach Indian culture values via culture scenarios from everyday life and history.
