Indian Culture – Happy Navratri

Navratri is a Hindu festival that is dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga and her nine divine avatars for a period of nine days. Each day of Navratri is associated with an incarnation of the goddess and the nine displays of Durga’s feminine power. Each day is marked with a different colour and worshipers dress in the colours which correspond to each day. Navaratri is also celebrated by communities getting together for traditional dances and nightly feasts. Navratri takes place from October 7th – 15th this year.
